ATAtude diving was formed by George K. Watson to provide the finest in technical and recreational dive training. George is a very active diver with thousands of dives in a wide variety of environments: cave, wreck, deep ocean and reef. He dives for pleasure regularly, both technically and recreationally. George trains continuously, looking to refine the skills that will give him and his students the necessary tools to accomplish their diving goals.
George began diving in 1974 in Monterey, CA at the age of 14. He was first certified that year by NASDS, now part of SSI, followed a couple of years later by NAUI certification. George dove as often as possible till the early 80s. In 1982, George began a very active and intense rock climbing and mountaineering career which left little time for diving. He managed to author 60+ first ascents from the mid-80's to the mid-90's. George has since begun diving frequently again, rediscovering the joy he felt and combining it with a continued drive to challenge himself and excel at the pursuit. George is a very active UTD technical and recreational instructor as well as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and TDI Technical instructor. George feels very well-aligned with UTD's team approach to diving, its openness and inclusivity, and the excellence and rigor of its courses at all levels. |
